Description
Don’t miss out on this chance to own this extremely rare and desirable Late 19th Century Single W Winchester Repeating Arms Co Promotional Cartridge Board. The board image is printed on wood grain cardboard with art vignettes, one by A.B. Frost in the left wing of the “W” which consists of a hunter and Indian guide in Hudson Bay Co. blanket coats. The right wing of the “W” depicts a Frederic Remington style vignette of a cowboy using a lever action rifle, using his dead horse as a barricade. The bottom center depicts two hanging ducks. Top center of the board has the large red & gold “WINCHESTER” logo. Apparently over time there was a repaired crack down the middle that is not too noticeable. The bottom of the cartridge board is painted. "NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A" flanked on the left by a panel listing "METALLIC AMMUNITION/PAPER AND BRASS SHELLS/FELT GUN WADS./PRIMERS ETC" and on the right by a similar panel "WINCHESTER REPEATING/RIFLES AND SHOTGUN, /AND SINGLE SHOT RIFLES." There are some cartridges and bullets missing, but the majority remain present. I think that some may have fallen off over time, and some were added in their place throughout the years. Some of the cartridges are loose and wiggle when they are touched. There are definitely signs of wear throughout the board, but the color is overall still very vibrant compared to many others that I have seen. Due to the weight and size, I will be sending this in a sturdy crate I have made to keep it protected in. I cannot promise that all the cartridges will be attached by the time the crate arrives to you, but I can assure you that I will do my absolute best to pack it very well. Worse comes to worse, they can be glued back on. Dimensions are 48"L x 35.5"H x 1"W. SHIPPING COSTS 5 WITHIN LOWER 48 STATES. If you have any questions, feel free to email me and I will reply ASAP. Thanks.
