Here is a good replacement transfer switch controller, for one of those proprietary controllers the major manufactures want K plus for. They are easy to program and they give you plenty of options for the built in timers.
We have tested and used these in a variety of Automatic Transfer Switch brands for our local customers. If you have a good understanding of how an ATS works, these are easy to wire into the existing harnesses. As long as the coil used for switching does not exceed 5 amps, this unit will not require any additional relays. The voltage display reads the normal power side of the switch. The generator when running, has led display along with the timer.
The other major plus with this controller, is that it does not require DC voltage to operate. We have tried several different manufactures of replacement ATS controllers and in our opinion these are the best there are out there for the money.
These will have to be fused on the voltage sensing side with 5 AMP 250V fuses. If it is a single phase switch, three fuses are required, two on normal one on generator. If it is a three phase switch, four fuses will be required, three on normal, one on generator. The final picture is one of the switches we mounted one of these controllers in, although we have done several brands, this gives you a good idea of how to mount it. They are din rail mounted.
